I've used the search function to try and find answers to my guage questions but ended up with more questions so decided to start this thread for all the newbies like myself.
I just purchased an '05 F350 Superduty with the 6.0. It has a manual transmission and I plan to tow with it. What guages should I install and why?

Other than the Transmission Temp gauge (which is not needed for a manual transmission) what else is different???
You have a 6.0 other than an automatic transmission, everything else is the same, and the multiple previous gauge posts sum it up.
he really doesnt even need a EGT guage if he doesnt plan to chip it....on a stock tune towing it shouldnt get hot enough to do any damage the clutch would prob slip first.
"Puking" is when engine coolant comes out of the overflow bottle. When things get to hot especially under load the coolant "pukes" out the overflow (degass) bottle. This can also be caused by blown headgaskets, engine oil cooler or leaking EGR cooler.

Hope this helps
So if it pukes, does that necessarily mean you have one of the above problems? I have some coolant residue on the degas bottle that was there when I bought the truck. No issues and hasn't done it to me but I haven't hauled with it yet. I will be towing the 5er today but it's a small one, only 5500 lbs loaded and it will be a short trip.
As for guages, I see someone that sells Autometers with the pillar pod, 3 gauge set complete for $269 on Ebay. Probably the way I'll go. I really want a good tranny gauge and egt temp.
You might check the TSB's (6-21-2) as there was an update to the bottles on '05's as they were labled wrong from factory and had the fill lines marked wrong on the bottles. A sticker was provided by the dealers to correct where to fill the bottles. Here is link
