Head Gaskets

Hi All:

My brothers head gaskets went on his 05 6litre with 56000kms. I now have 41000kms on my 06. Do I get to look forward to this or have changes been made in 2006?

Well that depends, are the trucks "Tuned" or stock. Did your brother have any other issues like, sticking turbo vanes, overboost, high water or oil temps etc?

changes were made in 05+ being bigger bolts and better gaskets...headgaskets normally dont blow. Unless a defect is present but that should show within the first thousand or two. Like stated normally high boost due to sticking vanes,bad tuner,bad driver.

I have an 04 6.0 and had both heads replaced at 75k. The dealer placed 06 heads instead of the 04 heads.

I don't think that the 2006 heads will work on a 2004 6.0 the locating dowels are different size and they are not interchangeable.

Then again I could be wrong...
