i'm a newbie and need some advise!

hey guys Im new here, I just bought a 99 f250 with 164,000 miles on it, the truck already has a bully dog programmer ,out look moniter and 5" exhaust. what would be the next step in getting more power out of it? I dont want to go too crazy. I know there is about a thousand options out there i just dont know which way to go with it.

thanks for the help.
Mike.

Depends on what you want the truck to do, and what you will be using it for. Youre right there is alot of options

You could do an intake to help it breathe better, a BTS valve body to help your tranny shift, maybe a tranny cooler. There are tons of things to do to make your truck run more efficient and longer, just poke around.
If you want more power do the little things, then buy a stronger chip like from DP tuner 120 race Then you could put on a stronger turbo

"I dont want to go too crazy"
You havent been here long enough . . .
I think if we line up Kris, Kwik, CSI, amiller . . . throw in a dose of AIS, BTS, DPTuner, ITP, mix it with some Delo and synthetic ATF, we might get cookin.
Seriously, "the sky is the limit" is no joke. Theres more things you could do than you can keep track of. The best thing to do if you've got a little time is just hang out. Read a little, ask a little, refine the search. Find out what other people are doing, liking, not liking, wait until the PMS virus has a good chance to incubate in your system and break out full force.
Then you'll know what you want and which bank you'll have to knock over to afford it :-)

If you think it's bad now, wait until you get the gauges & DP put in... I succumbed to temptation and put in my DP first to see what would happen (gauges & DP arrived around the same time). I ran it carefully until the gauges went in, though. Which tunes did you get, gunner??

Crowes, I too have the bully dog program and have already been through the outlook monitor. Get a good set of analog guages so you can read them ( the outlook bounced around so much from different numbers that I got a headache trying to watch it) If no induction kit has been added to the truck strongly consider the 6637(also known as a Kwikk filter, Tymar, BAF big *** filter) or a AIS system from Ford. Both filter great and flow a lot more air than a stock box. if you have a muffler think about cutting it off(not nearly as loud as you think.) If you wan't more ponies call Jody at DP tuner and get a hot set of tunes from him. Depending on what you are towing and how you are driving will be the limiting factor. If you want to race a modified dodge, or a duracrap, then plan on dropping a lot of bucks. 7.3's are made for the long run with moderate tunes and mods, but just will not produce the kind of HP you can see out of a Dmax or a Cummins. Good luck, and Welcome.
