Just ordered a Whicked Wheel from Xtrem Diesel today. A buddy said something about I might want to replace the bushings in my turbo. Just thought I would see what you guys say. Thanks
I checked my turbo shaft before I removed it to replace base orings and install WW. I did not notice any free play. After I got it out and on the bench I checked it again and it did have quite a bit of free play. Now I have to order the repair kit and pull the turbo out all over again. I was real close to ordering the repair kit 'just in case', wish I would have. Also found my exhaust back pressure actuator leaking oil and since I didn't have a repair kit for it I just gutted it. If you are going to pull your turbo, you might as well pull the pedestal also and change the orings under it. Having the two repair kits on hand may prove useful also. May also be a waste of money if you can't return them though.
Yea, I'm not sure if mine was normal for the milage or sloppy. I figure if I go ahead and put in a kit I may head off some problems. I sure don't want my turbo to start throwing metal into the intake if it starts rubbing!
i was just talking to Bob last night while getting the wicked wheel..a turbo out of the truck will have a little up and down play..that is for oil to have room to work while turbo is in place..when installed and full of oil..it will tighten back up...in and out play is no good how ever..
