What year is the truck? If it is 48-52, the biscuits are solid rubber. I don't see how they could be made "not solid". What do you mean by "not solid"? Got a picture?
The mount should be a solid puck with cone shaped top. Here is a drawing from the Ford parts book. As I remember when I bought my new mounts, it's been a while, the reproduction parts don't have the metal reinforcements shown in the parts book.
I have found the reproduction rubber is not the same quality as the originals. I have a set on my '49 F-2 with the flat six. The fuel leaked gas onto the passenger side mount and turned the rubber in goo. I dug around in my parts inventory, or my "pile of junk" as my wife calls it, and found an old mount and used that.
i know bob what they sent me looks like s##t it mash down flat like a flat tire when i set the engine on it ,i checked out advance auto today the picture they showed looked pretty much like the parts book ,they will have me one tomorrow will see then if not it i will have to put old ones back on ,thanks clyde
I am very surprized Adavance Auto would even have one. Most of the national places don't have people who even know what a flathead is. The one I have near me never has parts for my old trucks, they seem to rarely have the correct parts for my '04 Dodge

I bet they carry it as a "universal" motor mount, they are popular for that. I used them to mount a Ford 2.8L V6 in a Mercedes.
Bob Drake used to carry original style mounts with the metal reinforcements. Last time I ordered I bought an extra set - cause like you have found, most are junk. My fan rattles on the shroud with the cheap ones.
well, the biscuit at advance auto was the same as the others ,called bob drake theirs are on back order may have them in about a month, dont know why every time i need something from a supplier its always on backorder, so i guess i will have to either put the old junk ones back on or wait another month before setting the engine back in thanks for the help clyde
