Hey dumbbutt, try the post preview function and review your posts. Just kidding. Welcome to FTE. There is no race to post here. I make many errors after a few cold ones but I always try to proof them.
If you are looking at upgrading the turbo, there are quite a few sponsors on this board that sell them. Most popular drop in kits are the Garrett GTP38R ball bearing or the Turbonetics with either the .84 or the 1.0 exhaust housings. If you want to upgrade you can start looking at the larger Garretts, or the H2E, or a QSSB and a few others.
There are quite a few 500+ hp trucks running solid and proven setups without surge issues or need for BOV's. The turbo is the easy part.
What you should think about is the other mods and how much power you really want out of the truck. Matching the right injectors to the turbo and other supporting mods is key. Find out what your budget is and a roundabout HP number you want your truck at and we can tell you what you need to get there. Just make sure your credit card has a high spending limit.

Yeah, and if you wanted the fastest truck you started in the wrong place. Durable yes, fastest no. You may want a common rail truck. Do a google on common rail.
i want this truck to last 500000 miles but i need to be real i don't tow more them my 17 ft bass boat that is like 1200 with full gear, and fuel. but the f250 don't even get up to temp with that. i just don't want to lag behinh the 6.0 turbo like i am now. am i the only one??

Nope, you aren't the only one. That's why I've done all the stuff to my truck. And that's why I can't wait for the delivery truck tomorrow. My Terminator HPOS will be on my doorstep tomorrow.
Yes for sure, I think it was in one of the posts I cited above, I'd given a link to the web page of the diesel shop I visited outside of Seattle, WA that had a peg board displaying all the blown up turbos from surge. They were very nice and showed me all around their shop including several trucks with turbo work in progress, and gave me a good education on surge and the different sounds it makes. When I described the sounds mine had been making he advised that my turbo was probably going to blow soon, I figured he's just trying to sell me an upgrade! I'd been told by the expert Doug Lewis of PSR magazine fame that my noises were normal and not to worry about them so I was a little concerned, but not much. About 800 miles south of there going over a big mountain is when my turbo blew, and I decided those guys did know their stuff after all. Did you see the cobra pic I posted on your got the check thread? It was parked there again today!

I are an engineer, and can't spell worth a crap, never bothered to learn as we weren't expected to be good spellers anyway! Now that I'm retired I still can't spell (or type) yet if you check my posts you'll find very few misspelled words. My secret is to compose everything in an Outlook email window and use its spell check function, then just copy and paste into the FTE compose window and hit send! Of course the wife has to help sometimes because I can't even spell some words close enough that spell checker can recognize them to offer corrected versions.
