On a 40 mile highway trip it got 12mpg(17-18,mpg normally), my 76 F250 428 gets 11mpg. As you can see there isnt any improvement in the last 30 years other than overdrive. We just need a cheap way to put overdrive on the older trucks. It should boost it up to 15-16mpg. That would help alot!!

On my 76 F-250 390 i can get as high as 19-20 on the freeway. The truck is stock height along with stock tire size. the engine was rebuilt with a slight cam , holley projection fuel injection kit and a used gear vendors OD that is mated up to my new c6. I got the gearvendor for 900 on evil bay and the fuel injection kit form summit for 800.00.

My 76 F100 with a 428 and 2.73 gear and C6 gets 11 mpg highway and 6-8 mpg city (sometimes 9). I drive like I'm in slow motion compared to everyone else of course. If the speed limit is 55 I pretty much do 60 mph while everyone else zooms by at around 75 mph or faster.
My highway mpg was improved (from 9 to 11) by installing dual exhaust. It hasn't changed my city mpg at all, or at least to the point where I can tell.
