ok please dont flame me as i am new to trucks alltogether. so im buying a 88 f-150 really dont like those yellow side lights and dont care for the grill. where can i get clear side lights and a good looking grill.
also . is it possable to change the nose to a 94ish nose.(i cant remember the cutoff.) i do know that 94 is the new Areo nose i like the looks of that nose beter but will probably be to much money for a front clip. paint im not worried about as i plan on doing the whole truck anyway myself.
Well there have been several posts on the clear lens thing and I have yet to see answer . Get on ebay and see what they have allot of posts on lights bought off there.
As for grill other than a new stocker. You can get a tube or billet grill (Flat bars).
To do the front end swap you will need complete front clip off a 92 and up F truck .
Hood, fenders, inner fenders, core support ,grill support, lights grill ,bumper ,cowl. Any will work F1,2,350. as long as a gas job. You will need cowl (where wipers are )
and bumper. This will bolt right on . The only mode you have to do is make mounts for the newer bumper.
I've see decent front clips for $500 -+ . But you will have $150 + in a light and grill swap . Since you live in Jersey you should be able to find some parts. Just check prices on clips before you get lights. Find a clip that needs fenders they are cheap ,and you might get it reasonable just check core support for rust.
Good luck happy driving

Put the money you'll spend on the changeover with what you got now and buy a little newer truck with the front end you like.......
LOTS easier
No one has found clear corners for the 80's vintage.......readily available for my 92 if I want them.
Like LOSt said.....grill choices are stock.......and Billet......again for a 92 I could get round or square tube......not sure on 80's.
well i think stock the 87 to 92 are ugly but with a grill and clear lights not so bad you know. and i was just seeing how much would need to be changed "if" i was to find say a clip at a good price
btw where do i go about finding the grill for this thing ?
Yes, it does resemble an old washing machine on wheels (especially if it is white). But on the plus side, it only takes 15 or so years to get used to it and eventually appreciate it.
Keep it clean and waxed. If you get any yellowing of the headlamps, very fine steel wool will take care of it.
Spend your money keeping it running well, and any extra cash on the interior, where you will be sitting anyway. New or (as I would suggest) re-stuffed or upholstered seats will give you more enjoyment than a grill, which is mostly seen by insects, and their opinion only lasts a moment.
Enjoy your truck. It was made to be driven, not stared at.
im not calling ugly beond repair it just needs clear cornners and it looks much beter.. im not trying to spend a small fourtunie on this truck i got a mony pit already. my mustang so i was just looking to "update the look" so to speak
so i know i can go newer with the nose how about older to the 84-86 stlye nose i really like that one the best would i need the whole clip of that year truck also or fenders grill assembly.bumper and other misc. parts?
