I have to buy an new radiator support (eventually because of rust, the whole nose) because the current one bearly holds up the fenders. I'm planning on updating the nose to the newer '92ish body style. I do realize that this will include fenders, hood, headlights, and grill. Will the '92-'94 F-350 diesal radiator support work with my current radiator or will I need to modify it? Has anyone else done this? Any tips?
I did the inverse of what you wanna do. I have a 87-91 front clip on my '94 F150.
Pretty easy swap actually.
You'll need,
- fenders
- hood
- grill/lights
- cowl
- bumper (and new brackets) they do not mount the same way
- 92-97 Rad support (I think you'll also need a 92-94 specific Radiator to, but not 100% sure)
The 1992+ trucks have dual pissers in the cowl for washer fluid, so you'll also need to add a T to your single hose.
Otherwise it's a pretty direct bolt in play thing.
And just a tip for removal and installing your fenders,
Don't forget the 1 bolt on each side, you need to open the door and go from the open side of the door to access it. Don't forget to reinstall that bolt on the new fenders.
I do body work for a living so the actual process of swaping the parts is not an issue for me. My main concern was buying the right peices of the puzzle so it will fit together with out duck tape an bubble gum. I have an almost new radiator so I was hoping to get a support that used the same radiator an would except the newer headlights an grill.
