I guess I'll give my take on the engine, first off the cam I offered is used, I would not have a problem buying a new set of lifters & running it, with that said, the summit cam that Mike has brought up is a good cam for what you guys want to do, I have run this cam in a 10:1 460 & it had good bottom end & a really strong mid range,I think that the engine needs to come apart before to much comitmant is made, Lets see whats in the bottom of that thing and go from there, if some one wants to send me a pic of the combustion chamber & the tops of the pistons I'll be able to give you a close estimate on compression,

Might have something off some old airlines out back that will work, I'll take a look when I go make a water change this afternoon.
