Just wanted to say hi and post some pictures and give some background on this 1973 Ford Ranger 360 4V with a short bed.

When I met my wife her dad needed to have his truck painted. That was back in '92. I told him how great a '68 Cougar XR7 had come out painted with '74 Thunderbird Root Beer Brown and gold pin stripes. I told him I could do the same for his truck.... I have pictures to post of the repaint if anyone is interested.

Fast Fwd - After giving the truck loving care for the last 14 years my Father in Law has now decided to get a SUV with A/C now that he is '73. He says the A/C will be really nice and gas mileage improvement is what he is looking for. So..... he just handed the keys over to me.

Since I have been working on the truck for 14 years it's still in good/great shape. However, I have some plans for it. It has new radiator, new trans, the motor is strong with 80K on a rebuild. But, I think it's time for:

Headers
Intake
Cam - Now too wild ... but, fun power.
Dual Exhaust
Toneau Cover
Wheels (Maybe)
4" Lift
Locking Rear
New Chrome Rear Bumper
Stereo / CD
A/C Maybe .... If not too much trouble.

Welcome to the site. Great truck and great paint job. I agree that the color is perfect.

Yeah, horrifying though that may be it doesn't always drive 'em away. I mean, you did that to me but I still came back down the following weekend. (I'm still having flashbacks though...oh, the horror...the horror...!)

Wow, he has only posted once so far. Hmm... Must not have been impressed with the site. Nah that couldn't be it, maybe he is just busy.

Well, I'm just out the door to work (yeah, have to work today...how much does that suck...?!) so I'll have to spend the day thinking up a reply to your reply...

The old grey matter? I thought it was the old grey mare. When did they change it? why didn't I get that memo? What is going on here?

I can't be losing my mind, in order to lose something you have to have it first.

Nope, you didn't scare me away. Just organizing pictures and busy at work.

So I'll say hi again and repost the pictures again.

Just found out I do not get the truck until sister-in-law get her Acadia in a couple of months.

Here are the pictures again:

During repaint:

With Tonneau Soon:
