Tranny?

Hey forum,

Got a problem. I have 02 F250 Super Duty, V10. I'm getting a shutter when the truck downshifts, it doesn't happen all the time. It also seems to shift pretty erracticly, like the trans is slipping or something. It shifts just fine when I step on the gas (high speed). Any idea what the problem might be?

Hmmm, need more info first. How many miles? Have you changed filters/fluid? Have you checked your vacuume lines?

75,000 Miles, fluid is good. Have not checked vacuum lines

I do know that in all of my older Fords, loose or cracked vacuume lines can cause auto tranny issues since the tranny works off of vacume pressure.

No, the trans does not work off of vacuum. That went out with the C6 in 1996. The trans is all electronically controlled.

Your best bet would be to change transmission fluid. Here's how to do it:
