hi there. my E40D tranny is having problems. when ever i shift into reverse, or out of park into drive, it takes a second before it shifts. Also, when i shift into reverse it sometimes shifts really hard making the truck stall. when in drive an it shifts, it can also shift hard. are there any suggestions on how to pin point the problem or what it might be?

 

maybe the trans fluid is low or needs changing. could also be the torque converter.

 

i checked the fluid and it was fine

 

Mine does the same thing mikerans.

How many miles on your truck?

My old man says it's my torque converter. I'm not sure, though.
