Will they ever bring the excursion back?

Do yall think they will ever bring the excursion back? We have a leasing company and would buy alot of them if they made them again. We use to have suburbans and these are 10 times better IMHO. We love ours and know alot of people that would love to buy them if they started making them again.

If Ford did bring it back it'd probably be some dinky thing that wouldn't tow anything. Kinda like when Chevy brought back the Nova as a FWD pos.

Ford is bringing out the Expedition XL, which seems to be their version of the Yukon XL/Suburban. From what little I've read, it also looks like the 5.4 is the only engine option, too.

It's a very small number of people who need a vehicle like that. Just look at the sales numbers for the last couple of years it was around.

I belive Ford has the most profitable parts of the market covered with the two lengths of Expedition.

That being said, I really liked the Excursion. I used it to move an apartment full of stuff once. It was in the middle of a canadian winter and the 4wd really helped.

Well alot of people down here love them for the fuel economy also. Tthe suburban we had you could squeeze maybe 18 mpg out of it on the highway and 15 around town but with a programmer and the 6.0 I have gotten close to 26mpg at times and about 17 just around town. Even all of our emergency people have them down here and you see just as many of them as the same year suburbans. I guess its just wishful thinking.

The only way Ford would bring the Ex back is if fuel prices went back down to 1999 prices of $1.30 per gallon and the full size SUV craze returned. Well we know gas prices will NEVER be that low again so bye bye Ex forever.............

I don't see it coming back. The name is on the enviromnetalists whack jobs lists so I'm sure they would scream again. What I am curious to see when the new diesel Expedition come out in a couple of years.

If they solidify the move to a diesel option in the F150, the same option in the Expedition shouldn't be far behind.

I wish they would - but reality is, they probably will not. Everybody is going green and although this "SUV" is really no different than a pickup truck in terms of emissions - a pickup has a justifiable purpose and the SUV is seen as a "luxury" vehicle.
I'm with others though - I would like to see them come out with a diesel for the Expy XL. Otherwise, it looks like I'll be going back to a pickup.

We, the elite few, that are lucky enough to own X's that sadly are no longer built, will be envied by all... But seriously, as was mentioned earlier, with the astronomical price of gas these days, it would be in Ford's best interest to not bring the X back, or bring it back with diesel/biodiesel engine options only (I own a V10 pwrd X and it hurts my wallet terribly every time I stop to fill 'er up)...

If they did come back, I doubt I could afford one. An Ex with all the bells and whistles would cost a whole lot more than what I am willing to pay, and I don't think they would produce many "bottom of the bucket" vinyl interior, manual everything Ex's anymore. Even then, they would want an arm and leg for it. I thought paying $20K for mine used was going to make me go crazy. Especially since it was $19K more than anything else I have payed for. My wife wanted it, and you know how that is.

Why does everyone think gasoline is overpriced at $3 per gallon? When one calculates inflation, it is still lower than what we paid in 1981. If gasoline prices had followed inflation, we would be accustomed to paying closer to $5 or $6 per gallon. Yeah, prices are high, but it's relative and not a surprise.
