I like the looks of the ultra-lites,which is what I purchased.
I have purchased an ultralite boost guage 4303-m,but im thinking it is the wrong one now. If so would the 4305 be correct???
After looking at both it seems that the 4303 is boost and vacuum and the 4305 is boost only. I was told here that the ones with vacuum also are for gas engines. That beind said I would imagine that you really want the 4305 and it is cheaper than the 4303 on egauges.com. Hope this helps. I am still learning here also. Good luck.
If that is the case that the 4303 is vacuum/boost you don't want it. Diesel don't ever create measureable vacuum. so the gauge only needs to measure boost. No throttle plate, no vacuum
Well Neal I see Tim has sucked you into the mainstream autometer zone, lol. I like that indigo style gauges but I wanted everything to match. Irregardless, let me know when you start havin pyro problems lol.
That is funny you mentioned that. I just got off the phone with Hewitt Industries and he is sending me some info via e-mail hopefully today. I also just spoke with Dusty at Beans he said he said he can compete with egauges on any autometer so if that is the way I go I will go with Beans and keep the sale local. But I have a feeling, given what you said, I may go with Hewitt since I may order 5 gauges...big sale...big money... and I'm cheap. Pyro, Boost, oil press, eng temp, fuel press? I would say that will do me for gauges or can you guys think of anything else. I thought about a back pressure gauge since I will do the EBPV brake and I tow 12-17,000 lbs. and I didn't want the back pressure too high but I am still on the fence about this one.
MEXEMO...Go Vols!!!!!!!!!
That is all I have to say about that. ;-)
get the back pressure gauge!! lets see what else..... oh front and rear diff temp, t-case temp, tranny temp (even with the 5sp), power steering temp and pressure, brake fluid pressure, muffler bearing pressure, blinker fluid level, battery temp, voltmeter, air intake temp pre and post turbo, 4 tire pressure gauges, cabin air temp and pressure.
there might be a few more but that should get you started. I was serious about the backpressure one though!
LMAO You guys crack me up. That is awesome keep it up.
So seriously if I get the back pressure gauge what type of pressures am I going to see and what range for the gauge. Also will this also be a boost gauge or generic psi gauge?
I also considered a post turbo Pyro because i already have the connection on my D-pipe but I talked myself outa that one. Thank goodness.
You guys sure do help me alot but stay outa my wallet. Even when I ask for it.
I am very good at spending other peoples money! Just ask my wife. Oh wait she doesn't work! She is good at spending my money!
Anyway back to the backpressure gauges. I would say that a boost gauge will be the easiest to get your hands on. A 60 psi gauge will probably be in order. Since out converations with Dave at BD he says 45 psi is the magic number that their brake holds so you will want to be able to see that.
OK if I get two Boost gauges at 50 psi max I will be OK. One for boost and the other for Backpressure. Maybe I can get them to label it as backpressure. And you say 45psi for BP so that is the most I need to let it get to and if it does open the "Brake" so she can release some pressure before turning it back on?
I also have to spend this slowly because if the wife finds out she will want a new dress or somethiung like that. Can't let that happen. Oh yeah, does any of you guys wifes tell you that you must love your truck too much because we are always here and not cooking dinner or something like that. Maybe it is just mine????????????
Pyro w/lead wire and T-couple---$125.00
Boost Gauge--------------------$30.00
Fuel Pressure( not sure if elecor mech.)---$42.00
Oil Temp.-------------------------$30.00
Temp Sender--------------------$11.95
As it seems some are cheaper and some are more I will have to get more specific with him. If he can give me a Fuel Press that is elec. for $42.00 I should break his arm getting it. But if it is mech I don't want it because I understand that that is not allowed or reccomended in cab.
The pyro is cheaper than the cobalts but more than the ultralights. Funny it is in the middle huh?
