there are places that sell led tailights that plug into a 1157 socket and fill the entire lense not just the dot in the middle. I have seen them for 67-72 chevy trucks maby they can be modified to fit our trucks. I was going to do this swap; this is what I was going to try just never got around to doing it.

....He had 50 LED's (25 per side) with a mix of amber and red for the turn/running lights, and a mix of blue and high intensity red for the brake lights. A lot of extra cost was added because he wanted every LED to be wired as a redundant setup so that even if there was a fault or burnt out LED that it wouldn't affect any other LED's. That took a ton of extra resistors and buswork. Oh, the pics were shown hooked to a 12.3v jump pack, they were even brighter on the bike. Even with the camera flash they were blinding...
