I recently got an 1984 F250 4 x4 in a trade. It has a 351W engine and a manual trans. The shifter is missing so I do not know how many speeds it has. Can someone help to identify this tranny and transfer case so I know what I have?
P.S It looks like the shifter attached to the top of the tranny with all of the shifting mechanisms are internal. Second question. How hard is it to fix the shifter??
I can't help any on the identification, but just as a funny side-note, a friend of mine a few years back had a truck like yours, where the entire shift lever was missing.
He used a 4-way lug wrench to shift with. (Took it with him when he was at work or at home, so nobody could steal his truck)
