one for all fourm gods~!!!
ok got a 85 f 150 4x4 some one changed it over to a carb 4.9 great came with a efi 4.9 from the factory. but i got a chance to get a free~!!! 91 ford f 150 4x4 with a 4.9 i want to change the engine out becouse mine is just about shot how hard is this goin to be? this engine from the 91 is great has low miles on it and runs great. is this goin to be a drop in or is there goin to be some fab work needed? any input would be great thxs

On a 302 you have to tear the front of the engine apart and change the fuel pump cam eccentric piece, the timing cover, and water pump to go to a mechanical fuel pump and a regular v-belt pulley system. All to get rid of the fuel injection setup. I don't know how the 6 cylinder fuel pump is driven, but you could go to a electric fuel pump. But you still may have to look at the pulley set-up and the waterpump.
If you go with the fuel injection, then you need to get the fuel tank and all the lines, and a whole bunch of wiring. A lot of work.
