Like 'em? No....I LOVE guns!!! AK's and SKS's are my happy place. In fact...I took my SKS squirrel hunting today. Overkill? Yes, but it hasn't been out in a looong time.
A bentwood chair, and two assault rifles. What a study in contrasts.
I love my guns.....I have the "hi-tec" guns like HK and Glock, but my gem is my fathers never-been-fired Winchester 1894 NRA gun. It is an awsome looking gun and my son will get it when he is old enough.

The NRA Centennial Model 94's were issued in 1971. There are two versions, a rifle and a musket. Only 150 muskets were made, making them one of the rarest of the Winchester Commemoratives. No more Winchesters will be made in the US. Winchester is owned by Olin (since1931), and they licensed US Repeating Arms to manufacture Winchesters. USRA went out of business last year, and the New Haven factory was closed. Olin has since licensed Browning to manufacture Winchesters, but only in Japan (by Miroku) and in Liege, Belgium, where Fabrique Nationale is located. What will be made is speculation. Model 70's? Model 94's? Model 1895's? Model 21's? Maybe, but the rest of the line is kaput, for now.

Winchester's new web site is opened now, I was told browing had bought winchester years ago when they got in finanical trouble but worked a deal to allow them to continue for several years making the original line of guns even though they were running in the red. The new line of guns and the phasing out of the old line was on the books for quite a while according to an article in American Hunter...I like all of my M.70's, but not my 1894's they don't shoot worth a dang...but they look cool.
Gun fan here! I like a good compact-midsize .45 auto, and I love .357 Magnums even better. Just got my Dad's S+W Model 10, since he bought himself a Kimber .45. The Kimber's awesomely easy to master (I got 3 of the first five rounds I shot from it into the X-ring at 15 yards), but I have a soft spot for those old faithful Model 10's...

US Repeating Arms (USRA) was originally a group of Winchester executives who took over production in the late 1970's under license from Olin. USRA went broke and was bought by the company that also owns Browning. This company has been bought out by another. In 2006, sales of Winchesters had fallen to nothing, the license was up for renewel, so instead of continuing, USRA was shuttered. The factory in New Haven was closed and the contents auctioned off.
Olin, who still owns the Winchester name and sells the ammo and other products, has licensed Browning to manufacture Winchesters firearms again.

My dad got me my first rifle when I was 13, a .22, now I just got a 30-06, way more powerful and a lot more fun, I killed my first deer last year, felt bad for a sec, than I yelled "YEAAAAA", try shooting filled soda cans or targets, those are pretty fun shooting at with out harming anything
How come the winchester custom shop is still open? or at least they were 6-8 months ago. who's running that?
It's not open in New Haven, because everything has been sold. Don't know what has happened to the custom shop, but a trip to winchestercollector.org will get you the scoop. winchestercollector is: The Winchester Arms Collectors Assn. (WACA). The ppl on that site are VERY well informed. You want to know about anything Winchester, they know all about it. From today back to the Volcanics.
