I ran AE today,it came up a P1876 code transfer case 2-wheel drive solenoid circuit failure ?????
Whats up with that,I tried the 4x4 today and it worked fine.
if you didn't have the check engine light, I doubt its a problem. The computer won't even give you the check engine light unless an error occurs a certain amount of times within a certain time period. Of course, I don't know the details... but its to prevent a false indicator that may occur from time to time.
Well since the code is popping back up, keep an eye on how your transfer case shifts. It may be something as simple as water or mud in the shift solenoid, or there could be bigger issues that are pending. Test 4wd every now and again to make sure it's still working. Nothing like having it fail on you when you really need it.
Ok guys,i was wrong the 4x4 is not engaging, the hubs are.But not the t-case.
What do ya think????
On edit:Hubs are not engaging,(did the defrost thing)So im looking at the hub lock solenoid.I tested most of the hoses with a hand vac pump, they hold vacum.

Have you checked the fuses? I'd go ahead and pull the connectors of both the 4x4 and low range selector, clean them up. If it still doesn't work you can use a volt meter to see if there is any voltage at the plug to engage the motor.

Yep did that. After that is when i pulled the hub lock solenoid.I unplugged the vacuum lines and left it plugged in.Had the wife flip the switch on the 4x4 switch.I felt it engage once. Then she flipped the switch back.Nothing.Flip it back to 4x4 high, and this time nothing.Tried it several times.
I would start by checking for voltage when it doesn't engage at the case. This would let you know if it is the motor itself or in the control wiring. Will it go into Low?
