Ford excursion frame...

Does anny body know if the Ford Excursion frame is the same as a ford f250. I need to get a class five hitch but the only thing is they dont have it for the X. I talked to one guy and he said the X is the same as the f 250. Does anny one know if that is true.
Thanks,
Nick

Frames are different. However, they may be close enough for that hitch to fit. You may need to do some measuring before purchase. Does he have one in stock?

Oh...not sure you'd want to take the chance of ordering it unless he gives you an unconditional money back guarantee.

The hitches are different between the two trucks. Why don't you do some measuring of the drop from the frame, bolt spacing, width etc. etc. and see if he'll compare it.

Why do you need a Class V?

IMO, no it would not. The frames of the superduties are straight C channel aft of the rear spring hanger. The Excursion frame droops down at a angle and the C channel gets taller. aft of the hanger. you can see that in the side outline drawings in the gallery.

What do you mean "it`s failing"? on mine the hole for the pin is starting to elongate and also the end of the reciever is starting to widen at the top! I do believe class 4 is up to 10000lbs. so is the X hitch a class 5 already?

I noticed when I bought mine at 17k miles and it was never towed with, that there is some play in the tube when you slide in the drawbar! my buddy bought a brandnew 05 and it has the same play and now the same wear as mine with only 4k miles towing 4500 total miles!
