hey guys. my truck has failed to start a few times on the first key turn, then when it fires on the second try it sets the check engine light. The code that is set is a P2285 injector control pressure sensor circuit low. any ideas what to look at first? Is that low fuel or oil pressure? My truck has been trouble free except for a bad injector at 2500 miles, it now has 55000. any guidence would be great.
I have the same problem. I've been getting a P2285 code. I have also noticed that my engine surges, mostly when it is still cold. It has stalled a couple of times at idle as well but it always starts right back up.
Looking at the freeze data for the code it always says that the engine is not running (0 RPM) when the fault occurs. Don't understand that.
I've read about the problems with the ICP sensor. I also read it costs around $750 to have dealer replace it.
Any cheaper suggestions before I break the bank and take it in?
My truck('04) has the same code, but runs fine (88,000 miles).... I bought this truck at 82,000 miles a month ago.
Took it back to the dealer to check and they are going to replace the ICP sensor, #1 injector and egr valve....Find a good dealer that knows the engine and have them check it out!
(I did a complete road test with the tech)

the part itself should be the highest part of the bill. labor to replace the sensor should be no more than 1.5 hours.
Thanks for your responses. You guys have encouraged me and I'm taking it in on Monday.
I've got my fingers crossed. The five year, 100,000 mile engine warranty says it covers "Injector Pressure Sensor" It's $100 deductable but that's better than full price. It's a 2004 with 75,000 on it so we see what they say.
