I got my hands on a SD IDM last night as I was talking about this with a friend, he magically pulled one out of his tickle trunk and it was a 120IDM, swapped mine out and he took my 100IDM in return so this was a freebe mod.
Results..........more responsive, the engine just runs alot more smoother and does'nt feel like it struggles at all.
My mods right now to the engine, 3inch downpipe, 3.5inch straight pipe, 6637 filter now(get rid of the K&N, 6637 is better by far), 10kmod, hpx line, shimmed regulator and now a SD IDM. If anyone is looking at just giving your PS some pep and not looking for big numbers, these cheap mods really waken it up.
Now next question, sorry for hijacking, when would be a good time now to install a pyro gauge???
I would install a pyro on a stock truck. I have said it before but with a 4" straight exhaust and the 6637 on stock programming I could reach 1400* pulling up long grades. If you dont tow you should be fine.
Now just imagine what the 140v will do. (wheres the smilie drooling?)
ALight, I'm ordering the pyro. I drive mostly flats on the praries but I'll be taking the truck to British Columbia this summer so I'll be expearencing long grades.
As for hauling, at this time just my boat mostly(5000lbs) and the odd 8000lbs trip.
It is a good idea to get one and if not for the high egts while pulling I use it all the time to wait for the egts to cool to 300 before I shut it off.
I saw high temps with a 4 horse trailer with 4 horses (~10,000 lbs)
