mod to a 140 and gain at least 20 HP for a dime or buy a 120 for at least $400...hmmmmm..i think i would mod mine..if i can find the resisters that packed away..ill send you one for free...
Thanks Ron, would appreciate that. Looking at your trucks upgrades, that is what I am working toward, the gtp38r and the stageII's. With all these great MODS I will love my truck more than my dog!! Hope she doesnt get jealous!!
i modded mine its not hard to do at all. i have to admit i was a bit scared at first but its easy peasy. it revs quicker and it does add a bit of touchyness but its well worth it.
I had the 140 IDM mod with my stock injectors and loved it. I ran it for a while with my Stage 2 singles and decided to go back to the 120v. I had even more of a touchy throttle and to me it just didn't sound quite right. Seemed to smoke too much for my taste also. It is more "driver friendly" now. The SS injectors and their tuning will give you a touchier throttle response by themselves. The 140v just exaggerated it. My 140v IDM found a home with another member who loves it in his early '99 with stock sticks.
If you want a modded 140v I have one I can hook you up with. Roland modded it for me but I find it a tad touchy. Let me know if I can help you.
If he's not interested let me know. I want a modded IDM but have no soldering skills and don't want to take the chance of frying mine. I could pop that in when I do the IC boots and HPX I just ordered from you.
thanks for the offer Clay!! I am handy with the solder gun along with a torch and welder!! LOL and we akready have the grey ford sealer. Just a quick IC question though, will the 6.4L IC work on early 99?
I also would recommend the IDM mod. If Ron does not find his resistors PM me and I will send you one.
very nice..i rep"d ya for that. are the ones you have for the E99 110v IDM ???
if i was you i would take him up on the offer..im not sure what box mine is in...it may take a while..just made room to back my truck into the shop..havent finished un packing stuff yet..i want to take advantage of the warm day and clean the 2 feet of snow off of her and back her in..been parked for 3 months..just fired her up for the first time....man do i miss that whistle.....
