Door "key pad"

I have recently purchased an '05 F350 with the "key pad" on the driver's door. Does anyone know where I can find the code for this key pad or how to re-program it?

unfortunately, you can't. The keypad is actually a dealer added option. The keypad functions like a keyfob remote. It is attached to the door with adhesive tape. The regular way to obtain the keycode is to use the ids/wds/ngs. With this type of keyless entry, that doesn't work. When you purchase the add on system, it comes with a card that shows the code. Unless the previous owner left the code in the truck, you're out of luck. Carefully peel the keypad off the door, and go buy a new one from the dealer.

If the kepad snaps into the door it's a factory version (hard wired). If it is stuck on the door then it's a dealer accessory (rf). Look in your owners manual and see if there is a type of credit card that should be your code. If you can't find it will be on a module somewhere but I'm unsure of location. Just hang tight someone will bail you out!

Looks like it is a hard wired (factory?) version. I just read on the Expedition forum that it would be on a module under the dash on the passenger side. Not sure if tit would be the same on a SuperDuty or not. I've looked on the pass side and the driver side and can't seem to find it. If anyone knows the location for sure, it would be a big help... Thanks!

One "key" (no pun intended) item here, regardless of whether it's a "built-in" or "stick-on" version, it originally came with a plastic credit card with the factory access code on it. The dealer generally put that card in the owners manual.

If you can find that, you're home free.

If not, then look at this thread that should show you where to find the factory code.. It should be on a stick-on placard behind the dash where you remove the cover under the steering column. The pics on this link show you where to look.

That is because it is up over the center hump. Take the panty hook off and look up in there. Not easy to find, takes some searching . . .

If you cannot find the sticker with the code on it you should be able to go to the dealer and have them get the code off the computer. They will sometimes charge for this but considering you just bought the truck recently I would think they should do it for free. (This only works for the one that is built in to the truck though, not the stick on ones)

or, if you live nearby a decent Ford dealer, they can hook up their scan tool and get the code for you....that's "IF" they feel like helping out. I've heard some folks say they were charged $20, but it should be free. I have a good Ford dealer nearby and they were willing to help, but their field rep always seemed to have the scan tool with them in the field when I went by, so I finally pulled apart my dash and found the code myself.

Good info guys, thank you! Now that I know where to look it should be easy to find. I'm familiar with the plastic "credit card" that would have the code on it. My Expy has one, but there wasn't one included with this truck when I bought it. That would have been too easy, I guess. Thanks again to all that responded and I'll give you an update as soon as I find it.
