propane

Does anyone run the PS 2000? If so did you notice any performance gains out of it? I have a chance to get one really cheap and wondering if it is worth it? I know there is the MPG change, but im wondering more or less about performace. I read on another forum someone dropped a full second with it?

I have the PS2000, and yes you will notice a performance gain with it. Be careful though, it is addictive and dangerous.

Do you think 100$ is a good price for the gain?

$100 is a great price for the system, used ones sell on e-bay for $250-300. You can get a real 50-70 rwhp gain with a fairly conservative dose of propane. I got about a 2mpg gain on diesel mileage, but you need to remember that you still have to buy propane. There's really no economic gain unless you can get propane for about half the price of diesel.

It's also best to run propane with a tune specifically for propane. Whatever you do, don't run propane with a tune that has much timing advance, or you'll be sorry.

Since your wondering more along the lines of performance, have you considered nitrous?

In the words of Hank Hill:

"That's not its intended purpose!"

No way, I'm a BIG nitrous advocate. When used approprietly it's a beautiful thing.
What's it's "intended purpose" I wonder?
