E4od questions

My trans has about 30000 on it and ever since it was put in once month it would hang up in 1st if you had to take off fast. Took to shop several shops they find nothing and a month latter it would do it again and then be fine.

Today I stoped for a car that was turning (15 miles from home) and when I pulled out it did this (hung up) then shifted to 2nd where it stayed more or less. If you would gas it it would shift up and stay there till let off gas. And the next minute it would act like in neutral.

Fluid is up and clean and no wines . I have replaced several of these E4od (3 in kast truck and this will be 2nd swap for my new truck .) and ussually them dieing or means burt fluid.

Is there some of the electrics that might be bad (sensors ETC ) before this it was a strong trans and shifted great. . I have an extra rebuilt trans but If this is a eletrical or tork converter issue . I don't want to PULL and set aside it it can be fixed . I'm calling my shop tomarrow to see what they think.

I guess there will be no Carlise spring auto swap for me this week end.
O thank you and any ideas will be great.

Acting like its in neutral or staying in a lower gear might be a symptom of a failing MLPS. If it hasn't been changed you might consider changing it.

Thanks I wish I had known earlier. It was replaced when did last rebuild . I talked to my trans shop It was wait a week to get truck in plus the work done.or remove trans and have it back in 2 days .I took it out so they go threw it and check out . Only 1 1/2 hr of my time . compared to the $800 plus rebuild costs if it did have to came out of truck when they had it.

I had the last trans put in and reciept says it was changed . Is it in trans or outside on trans ? Or where thanks for your time on reply . Just want to know for future reference.

I had to get fixed today well started . I leave my house at 5:15 and get home at 7 : pm 4 days a week so I didn't do today it would have been another week .

The MLPS is the manual lever position sensor, it is located on the shaft that the shift linkage is attached to on the outside of the transmission.
