Really?

Well how do you explain this: C5TZ-16720-G .. nameplate "Camper Special"

First Camper Special: 1965 F100.

Camper Specials were offered in both the F100 & F250 thru 1972. From 1973, only F250 & F350 Camper Specials were produced. There was a Super Camper Special made from 1973 thru 1979. 4WD Camper Specials were first offered in the late 70's. 2WD Camper Specials outnumber 4WD Camper Specials by at least 40-1.

Camper Specials were also made in the 1980's and 1990's.

Could Jermafenser possibly have meant to say that 4wd Camper Specials were only available in 78-79? I'm not saying this is true, only suggesting a possible reason for his post since I'm sure everyone who uses this site would know that Camper Specials were availabe in 2wd.

I can see that now...but that doesn't take in the later 1980's and '90's Camper Specials which were available either way.

Yes, I know this is the 1973/79 forum, but others that either own or are considering buying a later '80's/90's CS with 4WD may not notice that, and might think...is it a conversion?

NumberDummy,
Are you sure Camper Specials were available in the late 80s and 90s? I was under the impression that 82 or 83 was the last year for the Camper Special. After that it was coupled with the trailer special package and called the trailer tow/camper package.

1980/89 Ford Light Truck Parts Catalog~Mouldings~Section F ~ Pge 3

1980/86: E0TZ-16720-AA .. Nameplate "Trailer Special"

1980/86: E0TZ-16720-BA .. Nameplate "Camper Special"

Two separate nameplates / Two separate vehicles

Can't prove whether there was/wasn't a 1990's CS, no parts books after 1989.

And buying two "Camper Special" emblems and sticking them on your truck makes it and "instant" Camper Special.
