buy the rpm intake and a 750cfm carb before I would waste any money on shaving the heads...

so on the cam do you have the specs? duration @.050 lift????
and when you say stock fuel and air what do you mean? stock 2V intake and carb?
trick flow cam???? do you have a link to the cam specs?

hey if i'm asking too many ? just tell me and I'll go away. I'm just trying to make some sence out of this build........

You are definitely not asking too many questions. You know more than me and I know it, so I will help you help me in any way. Now I understand why we are having a lot of confusion with this thread though, I'm leaving out too much important crap. 1993 Bronco E40D Speed density fuel injection Here is the link for the cam http://store.summitracing.com/partde...0&autoview=sku

Also, what do you think about advancing the cam 4* to make it run better with SD??

2800 is way to much stall.....I would run the stock converter or close to it. maybe 2000 stall......

send it back to them with all the info about your truck. or call them see what they say.

I know nothing about SD I'm a carb type of guy........

^Yeah...2800 isn't something I'd choose for a daily driver, but that's just me. Being that it's a lock-up type though, the higher stall speed isn't going to be an issue once the torque converter is locked.

You may have some idle and/or driveability issues with that cam being the lobe separation is @ 112; it probably wont create enough vacuum for it to idle properly. I'd recommend going with a custom grind cam instead. A custom grind is a bit more expensive but it'll take the guess work out of choosing your own.

I think you should send the convertor into PI for your free adjustment down to around 2K. Is this a lock up convertor?

You were asking if you should shave the heads, I'm not sure what the CC is on the combustion chambers on the Performer heads or which pistons you are running. So, without knowing what your compression ratio is now, its really hard to say. A better thing to do to those heads is a bowl port/gasket match. I have an older pair of those heads and they did need qute a bit of work when I got them. I dont now if they have improved they're ports over the years or not? There is a link on this site to a instructional site for doing your own port work, anyone know it off hand? There is quite a bit of HP to be had with port work.
