Let us know how you wire your switch in.

I am installing a set of lights soon and would like them wired so that I can have them on or off when in reverse and on if they are in park..

Having the switch for the lights is easy, question is where do you want the switch? There are really two options. One: Add a switch inline/parallel to the control wiring for the reverse relay. You'd definately want a diode in this situation. or Two: Simply run a switch to the lights in parallel with the relay, no need for diode here but then all the current for the lights goes through the switch as well as anything plugged into the trailer socket. I more opted for the first scenerio of tying in to the control wire for the Reverse relay. Then in the event I have a trailer with reverse lights, I don't need to worry about overpowering a switch. Or you can run a SPDT switch, set the normally closed contacts for the reverse section and tie the tow charge line into the other pole. This way it is one or the other, not both. Our plugs are relayed so there really isn't any worry about running a battery down when engine is off, as long as you turn the key off your good.
