So I got my power elbow from dfuser today. I got an 05 newer style for my 04, which in order to do you have to remove the EGR throttle body wich the 04s have. First of all its easy to do, unplugged the two connectors wich didnt bring up a CEL. I noticed a pretty good power increase at lower rpms, when your really gettin on it and it shifts to the next gear, it pulls alot harder. And it overall just seems to run a little smoother. My exhaust even sounds a little louder, and has a little more turbo whistle. So I think its a pretty good mod for 150 bucks, Im staying away from any mods that will sacrifice my motor, so I couldnt go wrong with this one.
OK, I'm new to the diesel quadrant, what's a Power elbow? Where does it go, what does it do and where do you get them? Sounds to good to be true. You guy both have the 6.0 psd, have you had any problems with head gaskets? Thanks, Rex
has anyone seen a mpg increase after installing one?
03zxt1 dont know if i got his name right said he has got 1mpg better...but he should chime in soon he....like me doesnt miss a power elbow thread...i aswell am not interested in mods that could shorten my engine life as i do not like spending 30-35k on a truck every 100k....so i research and watch every mod very closely before i buy...thats why my first mod was exhaust and second was by-pass system...anyway good write up on results let us know of any MPG gain...now youll have to do the cross-over line mod next.
I have a 04 F250 with a functional throttle body assy. When I unplugged both connectors, on the second start up, the CEL came on. Is there a way to get around this???
