cali trucks are more picky on emissions junk...after looking closer at mine i do have pins in my 04 they are at the top and easy to miss...although i did drive arouns with it unplugged for a few weeks with no issue so im geting the 05 elbow.
my light is still on, im not sure what ill do about it, but im sure as heck not putting the throttle body back on, my truck feels like a whole new machine with it gone, I really cant beleive the difference it made.
I put the 05 elbow on my 04. No CEL yet, been about a week now with it on. Really like the throttle response. I did have the functional TB and I removed the butterfly about a year ago just hadn't unplugged the TB to see if would throw a light.
Pulling my 30' TT tomorrow to work 350+ miles, see what it'll do then. Changed all my filters hopefully it'll do better than the 9.9 mpg I got last trip with the trailer, in all fairness I was fightin' a head wind most of that trip. The trip before it got 12.5 so I'm hoping to see if it will better that.
You also have the accufab option as well, which I use. I haven't heard of any issues with them as there have been with others (dfuser).
Lonewolfx, I looked at the accufab elbow, now I have to have one. I like them better because it's a cast unit. Thanks for the listing. I also would like to get an EGT gauge. But the mounting seems like it would be a problem. There's not a lot of real estate in the panel. Don't need too much more in gauges since the cluster came with boost, eng. and trans temp. I've seen the pillar gauge mounts but I not sure I need a second gauge. In aviation I know with a Turbo engine they look at TIT (turbo inlet temp) and EGT. I have not seen TIT mentioned anywhere on the forum. Does anybody know what the story is here? Is that anything that needs watching in the trucks? Thanks, Rex
TIT is the same as pre-turbo EGT which is what everyone is refering to when they talk about EGT. Mount the pyro in the drivers side exhaust manifold and you are good to go.
In aviation you look at EGT and Manifold temp seperately because you adjust your own fuel mixture manually as you fly, in an automobile the computer takes care of fuel mixture.
Swift 193 I would recomend a trans temp gauge as the factory on is not accurate, it is no more than an idiot light with a needle by the time it moves it is too late. checkout my link below for a pic of my over mirror mount. EGT, Trans temp and Coolant temp.
Thanks to 62rag for putting the website address in for the power elbow. I read about the "power elbow" in a diesel magazine; couldn't think of the website to order one.
Thanks again.

I know they all say it realy matters to mount it on the exhaust manifold but i put it post turbo for ease of install. Since I don't race it gives me what I need.
Here is a pick of the location. More in my gallery of mods.
