Winter to summer blend
I've read quite a bit on here about winter blend fuel giving worse mileage compared to summer blend. I just filled up over the weekend and notice my mileage went up a fairly substantial amount. Around 2 mpg average higher this past tank, all conditions are pretty much the same as always.
I'm in Western Mass - anyone know when the change from winter to summer diesel usually happens?

Stations here in Colorado (at least the ones that I go to) switched to #2 diesel a few weeks ago.

I'm not sure about the timing here in Birmingham, but I am seeing the same thing. Only thing that makes it harder for me to determine the true source of my gains is the fact that I've been making engine mods for hte past several months, some of which could help with mpg.

Thanks for the responses guys, guess that's gotta be it. I'm looking forward to a couple mods myself that I hope may pick a little up economy here and there - if I can keep my foot out of it. Just put the 6637 on last weekend, that's one big darn filter. Exhaust and guages next so I can get ready to add a DP Tuner. Extra couple MPG's will be nice over the summer!
