As soon as the weather got cold I noticed my mileage dropped to about 14.5 on average. One tank was even around 12. Thanks to all of you, I learned this is the crappy winter blend. Now, the last two tank fulls I shot up to 18 on average. I fill up at the same location and driving is always the same. Bellingham to Bothell every now and then (for those of you around here!) I am going to assume that summer blend is already here? The local gas station girls arent to bright so there is no point in asking them!! I always use the same additive so I am just wondering. Thanks
It would be nice, but hey, that's premium, maybe they can charge us moooore.
That always got me quality goes down price goes up in winter. But it would be nice, I just saw my filter minder on my AIS is at about 40%. Makes me wonder if that wouldn't help.
I think summer diesel is back, in Washington. I live in Wenatchee and my mileage has jumped from 12-13 in town to 15-16 over the last two tanks. I even got 18.9 going over the mountains this morning (hand calculated of course. The trip mileage display said I got 22.3) It has been beautiful over hear and it was really nice when I was down in at the 4X4 swap meet this morning at Puyallup.
I think here in Kansas where I buy my Diesel, they went to No.2 about a month ago. Was getting around 14mpg before that and just this last week end, took a 400 mile trip and didn't let any grass grow under me, if ya know what I mean, and I got 16.5 on a fill-up this morning....24 gallons = kiss a $50 bill goodbye!
