i believe the wires are different between the NAV units and the non-NAV units. i just had my oem unit removed(no problems with it) and replaced with the eclipse avn-5510. lmk if you are interested in the unit. it has been updated, and i have the complete set of the most recent discs to go with it(cost me $225).
It's not as simple as a swap. The harnesses and wires are different and there is a seperate GPS control modual and antenna you would have to install as well.
It's possible, but I imagine it would be a PITA. I'm sure you can find an aftermarket unit like the Pioneer Avic-z1 or z2 that will fit. I've got one in my f150...looks totally stock.
crutchfield.com has some pretty goo nav/radios for the expy. you can select the indash option and by looking at the pictures, they look real good and stock
You wouldn't happen to have a picture of that would you?
I just hate flip up screens and stuff that sticks on somewhere else.
Everytime i do something i really preffer it to be the stock look.
Check out my gallery for the radio in my f-150. I'm not real sure it would look the same in an Expy b/c the Expy stock location is recessed. However, I'm sure someone here has a pic of their Expy install.
