2003 Nav Install??

I have an 03 Expedition with the factory 6-disc cd-player installed.

I want to buy and install a factory nav unit.

Anyone ever do this swap?

Where can i get them first of all and what do they run? and what is involved with installing them and getting them to work properly?

i believe the wires are different between the NAV units and the non-NAV units. i just had my oem unit removed(no problems with it) and replaced with the eclipse avn-5510. lmk if you are interested in the unit. it has been updated, and i have the complete set of the most recent discs to go with it(cost me $225).

It's not as simple as a swap. The harnesses and wires are different and there is a seperate GPS control modual and antenna you would have to install as well.

What do you guys recommend then? I hate aftermarket NAV units that are just suction cupped onto stuff.

I like the factory look.

Is it possible to get the proper wires and harnesses, etc...?

It's possible, but I imagine it would be a PITA. I'm sure you can find an aftermarket unit like the Pioneer Avic-z1 or z2 that will fit. I've got one in my f150...looks totally stock.

Check out my gallery for the radio in my f-150. I'm not real sure it would look the same in an Expy b/c the Expy stock location is recessed. However, I'm sure someone here has a pic of their Expy install.
