Hey, does anyone think I can use a functioning fuel injector if the bottom plastic tip is cracked off? I broke the damn plastic tip, where the 4 little holes are at the bottom, off when I removed one of them. I am wondering if it will still work properly if I use it with out the plastic tip. Would I risk damaging anything if I put it in and try it?
Same thing happened to me when I changed my plugs a little over a year ago. That piece has a name, but darn if I can remember it. I did post the part number you can go buy to replace it either here or on another forum. Let me do some diggin' and get back to you. Oh...pintle cap...I think that's the name.
Thanks Bridge!
I picked up the part at O'Reillys Auto. The cap looks just a bit longer than the original, but it will due. Changed the spark plugs too. There were some champion plugs in it from when I bought the truck 25,000 miles ago and the gap was still about .045, which is smaller than spec. Maybe it will run smoother now.
