Radio/Nav radio reprogram

Hi guys I have moved up from my 150 to an 07 250 diesel super cab lariat the truck has only 1,300 miles on it so its really new. It has the 6CD radio with steering wheel controls and I really want to install the factory Nav unit. I have read all the threads and most of them are really old and dint answer my questions so I hope someone can help me.

In order to install nav must it be from a 07 ford or can I use a later one like 08? I know the speed sensor is the issue and the latter one did not read the early one siginals.

Is anyone still reprograming theses nav units, I called united radio and they said I would have to have a ford dealer send it to them for reprograming they dont deal with the public and my ford dealer has no idea about anything. let alone a 07 superduty navagation radio.

So if I can find a 07 nav unit the sirius is an add on right? so if I get the ford moldule dosent it plug into the back of nav unit and than I install an antenna from the moldule to make it work, than install a gps antenna on the nav unit itself to bring that online ? Where the 07s pre wired or will I have to get the wire from the radio to the moldule?

and last has anyone used the loc pic kit on there unit and did they like it?
I know I could go with an aftermarket unit which would do a thousand times better things but this truck is so cherry(it still smells new ) I just want to install the primitive ford nav.

Thanks for any help this site has been nothing but helpful for me whith both of my trucks .

Tommy

I have a Kenwood nav in my truck, and it look's like it was meant to be there! Did they have factory nav in 07? Never seen one, that is why I am asking.

It seem's crazy to me to spend money on inferior part's, just so you can say it is factory. Buy an aftermarket one, save some time, and probably money and headache!

navagation

No i dont think it was avaiable in 07 but im sure it can be done. hopefully the experts on here can point me in right direction. I know an aftermarket is better but I want to try this route first.

thanks
