New on here- I have a 2011 F250 lariat factory sync and sub, I purchased 2011 nav system that was supposedly out of a superduty part number BC3T-18K931. Intstalled it comes on ok, but the volume on the unit is very low and is more bass than anything, even at max volume you can barely here the radio, also the nav displays the message "A system fault has been detected that may cause the navigation to perform abnormally. Please contact your dealership" Also the nav says "no gps". My question is, is this a unit that needs to be reprogrammed and if so where can i get that done? Not sure what to do here. Thanks everyone!
My best guess is that you will need to visit the dealer and have them turn on that option in the control module. Everything runs on the CAN bus on these new trucks. Even the volume control, which varies by how fast the truck is moving.
Welcome to FTE, and congrats on your new Powerstroke!
Thanks for the help, I plan on going to a dealer on monday and see if they can be of some help. Any idea on why the gps isnt working? Thanks, Im enjoying the new powerstroke, this is my 3rd one in as many years and it is the best of the 3 so far!
Probably for the same reason. The Nav also needs to know if the truck is in motion, and if it is it will not let you enter a destination. So without a valid signal it may refuse to work. Assuming the thing is in good operating condition, it just needs to be enabled.
Good luck with the dealer. They tend to be kind of clueless about that stuff.
