A/C recirc button on 06 Lariat

I've got a question for you guys. When I start up my truck, the A/C is already on and it shows it is on recirculation mode from last time before I shut my truck off, however, it isn't actually recirculating. I have to "turn it off" to turn it on again (the recirc mode). I've noticed this and it does it every time if I shut the truck off and I start it later (with the recirc "on" but not actually)

Does everyone elses do this? It's more of a PITA than anything having to turn it (recirc mode)off and then on again for it to recirculate when it should be on recirc to begin with since that is what the screen shows to begin with.

Unfortunately that is the way it works. I had to find that out the hard way on one I replaced the control head on when it did the same. I put the new control head and it did the same thing. So I checked brand new ones on the lot and they too did the same.

While a good idea, I don't think it would have been a good idea with the rain we've had lately

Well, now I know I'm not crazy. Just one of those "little characteristics" I guess.

I think they changed the EATC control head for 07 but Im not sure, they make so damned many changes over the years it makes your head spin to try to keep up with them.

Well I went out and looked at my truck. When in heat mode it switches out of recirculation the next time it’s started (no light). When in AC though it stays in recirculation (light) and it’s obviously still engaged.

Watch the actuator on the recirc door. When you shut down on the 06 it resets itself to fresh. When you restart it still has the light lit up but the recirc door stays on fresh. Hopefully that is not the case on your 07. If Im not mistaken the control head itself is different on the button layout even.

Yep, It stays on recirc, going off the air flow not the light.

mine is the same way...it also randomly puts itself into the AC mode. not all the time, just every now and again, I'll look down and see the AC lit up.

little quirks...all we can do is inform them of the issues, and the guys after us will reap the benefits.

My 04 always requires me to turn on recirculate. Even if I turn the truck off with the AC on and in recirculate, once I start it up again the recirculate is off with the AC on. This is when in auto mode. Don't know about manual mode.

I'm in the same boat with Kevin... I also have to manually engage the recirc. feature (man. controls '05 XL).

Guess everybody has their own way of dealing with this. Myself, I always shut down my air or heat before I turn off the ignition. Next startup, I run the truck for a minute or two before turning on either one, it always goes into the recirculating mode.

The buttons are to close to the cup holders on mine. When I put a big bladder busting pop in the holder it bounces into the buttons and turns the AC on or it turns the recirculate on sometimes when my wife uses the one on her side. Very poor design in my feeble opinion.
