A/C recirc

I have a Lariat with the auto air conditioning. The AC panel remembers the temp I had set, the fan settings, etc. but it never keeps the recirc on. I can set the recirc to be "on" in Auto mode and manual mode and when I turn the truck off, it won't remember to keep my settings. I have to keep pressing recirc everytime I start the truck. Any ideas or is this just the way it is? I have an '05 Lariat 4x4. Thanks

The guy at the ford place told me that that is how it is. So just to check
I went out on the lot and checked about 3 trucks and all done the same thing. I know it sucks...

It’s just the way the older units are. At some point they changed them because mine always remembers the recirc setting.

If you have it in "auto mode" it will open and close the recirc door as needed without actually turning the recirc light on.

I think ohboy44 is right. In "Auto" mode, it goes into recirc, even though it doesn't show on the panel. I know that on my '06 Lariat, when I have it on Auto, it seems to be in recirc because I can here the louder fan noise, and the air seems cooler coming outa the vents. I'm in Houston TX, so I need that extra cooling from recirc.
