driveline mounted parking brake

Does anyone have one of these apparatus around? Or any of the pieces? I have a 51 ford f3. Someone removed it when they put a chevy engine in. I'd like to put one back in

Try Dennis at Recks and Relics in Ohio or Ilya the Panel Man. One of them may have one or know who has one.

Does your truck still have the Ford four speed transmission? Because the emergency brake mounts to the tranny. I think I have four spare transmissions and two or three have more or less complete brake assemblies. I can probably put a package of parts together for you, but it may take a few weeks because I have my spare things scattered around in three states.

Craig,

The F-3 may have a slightly different setup than your F-5s. According to the parts books I have the conventional F-3 is a "Y" model. The brake parts for the "Y" are different than the F-5, which is a "T".

Bryan,

I just checked your profile and you have a F-4 listed, is this the truck your are referring to? If so then it looks like the F-4s share brake parts with the F-5 & 6.

Glad you caught that Bob. Based on the part nos. it looks like everything is the same for F2,3,4,5,6 except the drum and band. Appears F2,3 has an 8 X 2" drum and the bigger trucks use a 7 13/16 X 2 1/2" drum. The drums are probably not interchangeable due to different u-joint flanges.

I don't know what size the trucks were that the transmissions I have came out of. I might not have the correct brake band. Pretty sure I have everything else.

Here's an illustration of the whole setup. It says 53-55 but it applies to earlier years.

f5 brakes

Thanks for all help!
I actually have a shevy 350 and muncie 4 speed in there now.
I completely rehabed the entire brake system...as orinal..so only one reservoir and no e brake...parking brake. i didn;t think ot;d be that hard to adapt it to mine.
Would it be easier to fabricate a system like the smaller trucks have that have cables to the rear shoes?
What would you need for the parts and shipping for the tranny mounted assembly?
I really appreciate all the help
