i alreacy have a magnaflow sinlge inlet with dual outlet muffler. i was wondering if i could cut out my cats and runn it straight pipe to the muffler. now i know this can be done but will i loose power. im after power gains not sound.
i'd assume you may lose some lower end power... i've never cut cats off of my vehicles ( i don't need the huge fine if caught). not going to preach about anything, but i wouldn't recommend it. i'm sure others will chime in for/against and why too...
do you really think i would loose low end. basically i want more power in the range of cruise speed bc 2350rpm to do 110km/h is kinda high. plus i dont care about smog or fines, no one checks for those out here in canada.
I have both cats cut out of my truck. I didnt notice any loss in power at all, if anything a slight increase. Removing the cats removes restriction. It would be similiar to putting high flow cats on, except more smog would get out. And if someone starts on you about removing the cats is bad for the air, tell them to check out what a semi exhaust system emits!
well, i guess to be honest, i've heard it both ways. deleting your cats won't provide you with a great improvement in power anyways. a lot of people do it, a lot don't. some say you get more hp/torque, others say the opposite. i'd say search around this forum (in particular, the exhaust section) to get some more answers. gl though on whatever you decide to do.
