Hey i just bought an 89 Bronco XLT with a 302, to tow my boat. It has 118k miles and needed some trans work, and an exhaust system. I got it for $1900 and have since put almost a grand into the trans. But my next project is the exhuast system. I have a set of Hooker full length headers, and i plan to run duals w/ 50 series Flowmasters, the tail pipes are going to dump out the side before the rear axle. Any one ever attemped putting headers on their bronco (302)? I looks to be straight forward, but If anyone has any expierence id like to know if there are going to be any "gotchya's" once i get started. Thanks...
My brother has a 88 eb bronco with a 302. He has over 189,00 miles on it. He has dualed it out in front of the front wheel's with echo chambers and flowmasters(I think it has flowmasters on it). The truck is so loud you can hardly ride in it. He had to put a amp on the stereo just to hear it. But it does sound good if you can stand it.
I have a 93 bronco with a 351 and I installed headers on it. It was very simple and it makes a huge difference. I have installed 3 inch pipe all the way back with a flowmaster. The sound is not unbearable, actually it sounds really good. The headers and the k&n make a huge improvement in gas mileage.
I have an 87 with the 302, but I put on the shorty headers, I didn't have any problems with the shorty's, there's plenty of room on both sides, I had to fab a new dipstick mount and pay attention to the spark plug wires but those were the only problems.
Note: with the headers (bieng thinner than the old manifolds)your gonna hear more engine noise up front, (if you can hear over the new Flowmasters).

Did you install 3" duals or 3" single? I have been told that dual 2 1/2" will be louder that 3" single, and it will still flow pretty good.
I bought my 91 302 with shorty headers running throught the stock exhaust (I have heard they had a problem with stock exhaust manifolds) I am changing the engine and will be running duals form the research I have done I have found that they recommend running 2 1/4 inch to help keep your lower end torque and remember if you plan on driving with rear window down do not run them out the back. I am also going to try and work on getting someone to make me an H pipe, it made a big diffrence on my 5.0 Mustang,
