Ok I know hat 8N's 9N's and newwer ones like that a 239 Flethead could be mounted fairly easily, but does anyone know if a 239 flattie can mount fairly easy into a 1919-1928 Ford tractor?
I think I may have a lead on some buildable flatties and I know there is a Ford tractor coming up for sale, and a tractor that old with a 239 would be kickarse. Just wondering if maybe Fom or someone would know.
Now your really going old with Ford. I guess we could say you have something with rubber band tires! (I mean the flat rubber normally used on older tractors so they can be driven on pavement)
This isn`t exactly what you may need, it`s on the N series which are newer Ford tractors but it is interesting: http://www.awesomehenry.com/v8fordconversions/
You may find some info and a link to what you`re looking for.
that would be a beast to put a flathead into. the thing with the modern Funk (N series conversions) is that the new kits sell you a cast or fabricated oil pan surround that takes the place of the original motor with integralish frame. your steering assembly all mounts onto that frame instead of your motor. the original funks have a cast oil pan that replicates the original motor and makes allowances for all the mounting.
with that Fordson there would be massive amounts of fabrication as the block is pretty much the entire tractor. I'm sure it could be done but it would cost a boatload of money and a lot of time.
If you want to be diffrent, but not spend as much, how bout a funk conversion and but a blower on the flathead????
I just like ABC series IH trucks (oh and old styly Loadstar 3-6tons), no other affiliation to the McKormick, International, Deering company. Thanks though.
