This started yesterday, Tow/Haul icon flashing, information center says "check gauges", and the trans temp gauge stops working. Everything resets after its shut off for a while, then it happens again. I have checked the tow/haul fuse (its OK) and it wont go into tow/ haul mode. Truck drives/ runs/ shifts fine. Its an 07 F350 6.0 automatic. Anyone know what the problem is?
The flashing tow/haul is your indication that there is an issue with the tranny, and the TCM is probably holding a trouble code. You need to get that code read and interpreted.
Since your temp gauge went dead, it is probable that you have a failed TFT sensor, or TFT sensor wiring. The fact that it comes and goes makes me suspect the wiring/connector. But until you read the code you can only guess.
Thank you for the reply. I asked my buddy at the Ford dealer (parts manager) and he figures a faulty sending unit, so I will replace that and see if it cures the problem. I figured I couldnt have been the first with this problem so maybe someone here had encountered this before. Thanks again.
