I have a 79 f250 460 cid 2wd. I tried to adjust timing but distributor doesn't move after loosening the "hold down" bolt. Is it possible to break loose?
mine was locked and i sprayed it wil PB blaster and let it sit...then i got a 1x1" piece of wood and a small hammer and tapped it back and forth until it broke loose.
I wrapped a chain around one and used a cherry picker, I had the wheels off the ground and it still didnt come out. a couple smashes with the hammer and then she slid out ....Yea ,I had to replace it....

I tryed that but it didn't work so I did the obvious thing and got a bigger hammer. Finaley got it to move and tapped it back and forth spraying liberley with PB till it came out.
