and my name's gonna be mud, 'cause I started it.............

Its amazing though that a '77 F-150 is $600 more than a '76 F-250. Inflation back in the Carter years was worse than I remembered...............

I can find some prices for options.

The 400 engine option in 1978 in Western Canada was $566.10.

The book Ford F100/F150 Pickup - "America's Best-selling Truck" by Robert Ackerson has base prices and option prices for these trucks in the 60's, 70's & 80's.

Oh yeah i forgot to mention that get that book its awesome its shows every price and option on every truck even ones from the 50s 60 70 and 80s

I own a copy lots of valuable information options gear rations anything

hey guys, i bought a red book from motorbooks international. it gives prices, production #'s options and lots more. it was about 6.00 on ebay. bought the same years ago for my mustang. very good reading.

Just as a note, my dad bought a new '79 Pinto to drive to & from work. It had zero options(really!) and stickered for $3132 exactly. Brian

My Dad bought a new '77 Pinto and I think he paid $2700 for it. My God, that car was the biggest POS to ever come out of Detroit. (No wait, I must be thinking of the Vega!) No wonder we lost ground to the Japs...........
