I had my '95 do the same thing with any trailer hooked up. I checked all my connections and still had a problem with it stalling out. I pulled out my spare CPS and swapped them out and the problem went away. I would have never thought the trailer would cause that to happen. Those CPS are strange. Like they said swap it out and see if it cures it. Good luck
I need a CPS and I see that Ebay is no better deal than one of the member sponsors here on the site. All week Ebay has been running up around $90.00 + shipping for new CPS (they spike at the last minute) with 8-10 bids by the last day.
Millenuim Ford (who is a sponsor here) has a web price of $100.00. As it happens, I bought my PST from them last June. Good dealer, stands up to their word. When I bought it, the brake caliper seized on my way home from the dealership. They paid a tow (expedited it too), and replaced the entire front brake system: Calipers, rotors, pads on both sides, and also new lines to the brake cylinder at theri expense. Even after I hammered them down to $5200.00 on a 94.5 PST % speed with 156k on it, clean with 1 owner.
I went to the stearlership yesterday to get a CPS to keep in my tool box for a long trip I am goin g to be taking. I did not have time to wait and order one online.
The first price the girl at the counter gave me was 190.00. I almost crapped and she noticed. I said I may have to go check the international parts shop because the price was too high.
She took pity on my wallet and brought the price down to 150.00
I did not know they could even do that. Next time I'll know to hmm and haahhh over the price and try to get them down some.
Ok, I have gotten two different part numbers referenced for the same CPM. 1 is more expensive than the other but they are both supposedly the same thing. I bet Cuda Jim or some other PST brainiac here knows the answer so I buy the right part, so here goes:
Part #1: 4C4Z-12K073-AB - $81.00
Part #2:F6TZ-12K073-A - $101.00
o.k....stupid question but i have to ask since I make pretty long trips pulling a pretty heavy load with my truck. How do you change the CPS? Everyone says its easy, but I dont even know where it is? Also if you replace it, lets say now, should you "still keep an extra in your glove box"?

Is there a difference?
I got my original #'s from cuda's gallery. When I went to International they had a totally different # . I checked back with Jim and he said it was the replacement for the one I was looking for it's a blue 1 not black. The Inter. part# is1807339C92 apparently it replaces 2 or 3 different cps part #'s.

Reason: spelling
FL BWAB, the cps is on the frt of the engine. all you need to change it is a wrench or socket(10mm?) and a small dab of grease to lube the O-ring . unplug the old 1 and pry it out gently with a slotted screwdriver and put it in your glovebox as a spare.Install the
new 1 and plug it back in you're done .
I want to thank you all for your help in my problem, I think they found my problem, the turbo exhaust tube was like 90% blocked, so will see later today when I pick it up from shop.
