Well a little while ago SuperChips had a tune come out claled the "extreme" tune that was free when updating the flashpaq. Well i finally saw the tune came out for my 03 6.0 PSD. Well i also saw they had renamed the tune "Redline". When updating my flashpaq it gave the option of adding the "Redline" tune with a extra charge of $100 Dollars. People who had the tune before the charge will now find when they update there tuner it will take off the new tune unless they agree to pay the new charge. I myself find this sneaky of them to do and also dont see how a new tune is worth $100. I think i might find myself selling my SuperChips and picking up a SCT. My buddy got one with some custom tunes from a guy on here and his truck screams and will beat mine with the SuperChis any day of the week. SCT here I come.
hey ryan, did you have the sct xcal before? if so im asuming you got the livewire for the beifits of the screen, and are you gonna go back to the xcal?
No, I did not have an xcal2 prior. I got the livewire due to it replacing a xcal and say a outlook monitor for a reasonable cost. The xcal had several of hte issues facing the livewire, but those have all been dealt with, and the xcal is now a "proven" product. I would still have the xcal even if I did venture off into the livewire as an upgrade. As I still have my Superchips SCMT 1704.
On the Superchips forum site several people have stated that when you update your 1805 it removes your FREE Extreme tune then wants to charge you $100 dollars to download the Redline tune. Superchip says that the Extreme and the Redline are the same. Question: How do I update my 1805 without wiping out the Extreme tune?
I have the Flashpaq but I'm not happy with the tranny tuning that it offers. Does anyone know if the SCT can do any better with the way the tranny shifts? If so where is the best place to get one?
