I have been taking mine lately. Diesel is about 17/gal less than gas. The truck gets a couple mpg better mileage than our Honda Odyssey as the trip to work is in the foothills and lots of up and down highway miles. The van spends a lot of time downshifting and gets only 15 mpg. The truck gets around 18 mpg and combined with cheaper fuel costs is less to drive... then there is the cost of oil changes though.
I drive mine as a DD about 75miles/day commute. Plus I drive it on weekends, and tow about 1~2 times a month (8k) to the race tracks (300~600miles).
I chose this truck because it's the perfect balance for our needs. It can 'handle' the mileage without destroying resale value, so durability was a factor. It gets reasonable fuel mileage (18-20mpg). It's also very useful for weekend work on the yard/houses I can throw my mountain bikes in the back. It's 4x4 so I can get over Donner pass whenever I want. It's got enough room for my wife, all our stuff, and the dogs. In terms of towing, it's king. I have the proper long wheelbase, towing options, power and safety for towing my 28' enclosed race trailer. Plus I can take it 4x4 camping with my brother.
The downside can be that it's hard to park compared to a honda or something, and it's fuel mileage is not the same as a honda.
Overall, it's a great daily driver IMHO. I have put about 16k on it in 6 months. I bought it new.

Bought my 2005 F250 CC FX4 Sept 2004. As I am an automobile insurance claims adjuster, thus I travel "every-day". Currently have accumulated just over 84,000 miles. The added interior room / comfort is great, for my truck is my office 5 days per week. When needed, I pull my dirtbike trailer and/or 35ft Toyhauler with no noted difference. As I am reimbersed for my travel expenses, I maintain a log for fuel purchases,,and average 17mpg with mixed driving conditions. I have no regrets in the usage as a 'dailey-driver", as well as over 2 years later, I receive compliments daily as to the appearance of my "Mobile-Office".
Bought my 2007 F350 KING RANCH CC 4X4 LB Nov 2006 and it is my daily driver at about 100 miles per day. Tow several times a month and averaging 17 miles per gallon with 13K on the clock.
I'm a commercial Union Painter and I use my truck daily. My mileage varies depending on location of where I am working. Sometimes it can be as far as 180 miles round trip a day and other times only 40. I average about 16 miles to a gallon. I have over 6,000 miles on my truck since Jan.
I use mine as a DD also, when I am home and not flying somewhere. I have a Infiniti J30 that I bought new and is my airport transportation. We also have a Honda Ody and the wife drives a Vibe. I mostly try to keep the dust off her when I wish we could be towing and camping. Weather is not cooperating in the least around these parts. May have to go see the 5'ver tomorrow and mope around for a bit...<sigh></sigh>
